Caesar salad

American · Salad · 20 min · Serves 4

A crisp, garlicky salad that's been a family favorite for generations—there's a reason it never goes out of style. The creamy, tangy dressing and crunchy croutons make it feel a little fancy, but it comes together in about 15 minutes with ingredients you probably have on hand.

Ingredients

Method

  1. 1

Mince the garlic and anchovies together on a cutting board until they form a paste.

  2. 2

In a bowl, whisk together the garlic-anchovy paste, mayonnaise, lemon juice, worcestershire sauce, olive oil, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.

  3. 3

Wash and dry the romaine lettuce, then tear it into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.

  4. 4

Pour the dressing over the lettuce and toss until everything is well coated.

  5. 5

Top with croutons and a generous handful of shaved or grated parmesan cheese, then serve right away.
